What does the membership cover?

As a member, you gain access to basic primary care, as well as enhanced medical care that would typically be denied by insurance companies.
Membership includes:
Unlimited consultations with your physician
All office visits, including annual well checks and diagnostic visits
Same-day care when available
24/7 access to your physician by phone, text, or e-mail
Coordination of care among specialists
Patient advocacy with insurance companies, hospitals, and other physicians
Lifestyle coaching and health progress reports
Urgent care

Question 5

What isn't covered by the membership?

Accepted Answer

Your membership with Bozeman Concierge Medicine covers the majority of your care. However, certain procedures may require specialty medication or equipment that are unique to the treatment you require.

Examples include:
Medications
Vaccinations
IV Infusions
Suture Trays
Splinting Materials

If you require specialty medication or equipment, you will be billed for these items based on the price the physician pays to stock them. You will not be billed for any standard medication or equipment used, or the additional time required to do a procedure.

Your physician is highly motivated to keep the cost of your care down, and only the necessary equipment and medication will be used.

Please note that your membership specifically covers the care you receive at Bozeman Concierge Medicine and does not cover expenses incurred at other physician offices or hospitals.

How is a Board Certified Emergency Physician different from a family practice doctor?

In general, Family Practice and Internists practice Primary Care, also known as Preventative Care. They develop continued treatment plans for patients to maintain health and prevent disease. Internists specialize in treating adults, while Family Practice physicians treat adults and children.

Emergency Physicians specialize in acute care, and the rapid recognition, evaluation, care, and stabilization of patients, both adults and children, in the Emergency Room. In their practice, they are required to have a comprehensive understanding of medicine that is expansive in both breadth and depth, as they treat emergencies and non-emergencies of all types for all groups of people. In addition to effectively and efficiently treating patients, Emergency Physicians routinely coordinate care with specialists, which further enhances their ability to understand a patient’s medical condition and advocate on their behalf.

Traditionally, Emergency Physicians are not involved in the continued treatment plans that a patient receives. However, after years of witnessing how the current primary care model isn’t working, and how many urgent care and Emergency Room visits could have been avoided in the first place, Dr. Rosenthal is ready to shift his focus from treating emergencies to preventing them.

Will my insurance reimburse me for my membership dues?

Most insurance companies do not reimburse patients for concierge care. However, there may be the possibility of using HSA funds to pay for membership dues. Patients wishing to use their HSA funds will need to work with the physician to establish a billing schedule unique to their situation.

How does the membership work with insurance?

Bozeman Concierge Medicine does not accept insurance as payment for membership dues or equipment and medications used in the practice. However, your insurance will still be accepted by pharmacies, specialists, labs, and hospitals.
If Dr. Rosenthal refers you to a specialist or lab, or if you are prescribed a medication, he will assist in providing the appropriate documentation to your insurance.

Do I still need insurance?

Yes. The primary role of insurance is to protect you in the event of a life event that could drain your finances, also known as a catastrophic event. Bozeman Concierge Medicine highly recommends you have some form of insurance, or join a health share organization, to ensure you are covered in such a case.

However, joining Bozeman Concierge Medicine could have an impact on the level of insurance you require. For example, if you are in generally good health, you may find it cost-effective to pay for a membership to cover your primary and urgent care needs, and subscribe to a health share to protect you from emergencies.

What if I have an emergency?

In the event of a life-threatening emergency, call 911.

If you have an emergency that is not life-threatening, such as a broken bone or cut, you may choose to contact Dr. Rosenthal for an immediate consultation. In many cases, he can meet you at any hour in the office and save you the expense of an urgent care or Emergency Room visit.

Should a member have a life-threatening emergency and require hospitalization, they (or a loved one) can contact Dr. Rosenthal to have him advocate on the patient’s behalf. Where possible, he will meet members in the emergency room to help patients navigate treatment.

Will I still be billed if I do not use the services offered by Bozeman Concierge Medicine?

Yes. Your membership is a one-year contract, and you will be accountable for dues even when you do not use the services provided.

Bozeman Concierge Medicine is a boutique medical practice that will always stay small. Limiting the number of members allows Dr. Rosenthal to give each patient the attention and care they deserve.

However, the earliest stages for Bozeman Concierge Medicine are focused on establishing a membership base. We appreciate your referrals! Word of mouth means a lot to a non-corporate practice such as ours!

While the number of patients Bozeman Concierge Medicine accepts is limited, that doesn’t mean the company will stop enhancing the care patients receive. Future plans to increase the amount of services offered to patients include on-site x-rays and Botox administration for pain and aesthetics. Some of these services may be available to non-members at a higher price. Members will always receive the best prices and have first priority for scheduling and treatment.
